i haven't tried it with my iphone or touch, but on my ipad 2 (verizon) when listening to music and i press the home button to get out of the music app and then i go back into the music app by pressing the ipod button the song stops playing. :confused:

Why not 2 blocks from Ground Zero? How close is too close? Apparently Tennessee (http://abcnews.go.com/WN/murfreesboro-tennessee-mosque-plan-draws-criticism-residents/story?id=10956381) is too close. So is California (http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2012134,00.html). Anywhere is too close for the racist xenophobic morons protesting the not-Mosque because whether they build it 2 blocks from Ground Zero, or somewhere in Alaska that is the furthest you can get from Ground Zero while remaining on US soil, people are going to protest. So build it near Ground Zero. It's got to look better than what's currently in that spot - a run down, damaged abandoned building that's doing nothing to improve the safety or property values of its surroundings.

Maybe, when you rank the individual product models. But when you rank the underlying platforms, iOS is no longer leading the pack. Android has taken over the lead and that was to be expected, because Google did the smart thing: Divide and rule. Everybody can build Android gadgets, but only Apple builds iOS devices. And the systems that everybody can use have ALWAYS dominated the market. Just remember Windows vs Mac OS or VHS vs Betamax and Video 2000.
Winni... you're right, it is a totally different business model between Apple and Google when it comes to cell phones. And given that LG, HTC, Moto and others were failing miserably at doing their own OS it made sense for them to migrate to Android. Just the pure numbers say that Android is going to be a major player in the smart phone market.
However, that does not mean that iOS will not continue to thrive and grow either. As you can see by the numbers... it's a HUGE and growing market. Given that Apple's model makes them very profitable, I'm sure they are very happy with where they are at and the growth they are seeing.
I really hate this stupid iOS vs Android comparison. Android or iOS will never own the total market and one will not destroy the other. I just don't see that happening unless one of them takes their eye off the ball. Right now, that does not appear to be Apple. They seem to know what they're doing based on the numbers.

i'm hoping so. i think the deal has always applied to the $999 white macbook. (correct me if i'm wrong.)

Netflix advantages:

I happen to have the displeasure of knowing a good many more than I'd like to, and I'm telling you there's no way that a full 45% of that student body are blue-blooded Mac users. I've believed it since the beginning of the rumors and it is getting more and more rock solid.... there will be NO iPhone.
I think it has gotten to the point that people think it will be out so bad that the rumor has been allowed to live on.
Why would Apple want to get into the cell phone business? I could think of only one good reason... the iPod will not last for much longer unless they add some serious additional functionality to it.
I believe that Apple has more to gain from the "iTV" model plan than going cellular.
Everyone has a TV. Everyone NEEDS a TV. Everyone LOVES their TV. Not everyone needs a cellphone. Not everyone LOVES a cellphone.
Cellphones have become a burden on society. Why do we need to be intouch every second of the day? We don't. Cellphones are the only form of technology out there that actually causes grief for other individuals. Think about it, how many times has the movie you are watching, the dinner you are trying to enjoy or the church mass you are trying to worship at been interrupted by the "lovely" little blaring chime of a cellphone? Or even better yet, that person picking up the call and talking on it as if the person on the other end of the line is more deaf than Helen Keller. How many times has someone cut you off in traffic or almost hit you, only to get a look at them to see that they are gabbing away on their phone, oblivious of the fact they almost killed you?
My family has a TracFone. ONE TracFone. It is to be used when we are out traveling or when someone is out shopping and might need to call back home for something. No conversations are held on it, that's why a have a Verizon bill each month for my home lines. Besides, why would anyone think I would want to hear their conversation with someone about how "Brad is such a dick because he hasn't called me in 3 days. Do you think I shouldn't have slept with him on our first date?"??? ***Real conversation I had the "privilege" of "over hearing" right behind me in my ear one day standing in line at the mall.***
Where are the GOOD rumors. Like about what new Mac Apple is coming out with? Or what new feature the iPod is going to have to blow everyone away again? How about this one, "When is Asteroid coming out???"
I'm tired of iPhone this and iPhone that. Give it a rest people. How long has this rumor been going? Maybe the better part of 18 months? Every single Mac Expo and Convention gets this crappy rumor attached to it and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Yeah. I gave up waiting for the white iPhone last August, but I'd love to swap. Best bet would be if I could convince someone who plans on getting a 4 to buy a white one and trading. Don't think I'd be able to sell mine for enough to pay for a white one. :(
I was thinking of selling my iPhone 4 and using the money to buy a white iPhone 4, put it in an otterbox and keep it in perfect shape then sell it when iPhone 5 is released. I've owned a lot of iPhones since day one and for some reason the white iPhones have a higher resale value than the black ones.

I think that's a poor example because Konfabulator was already around and Apple essentially just took that idea and made it part of the OS. Desk Accessories which were part of the original Mac, released in 1984, were similar to widgets. So I don't see where revolution comes to mind. They've evolved, but it's not a revolutionary idea.
Not to mention Firefox and Google have had the same stuff for years...

This is such an obvious attempt to play the whole "lets match Sony" game. I mean come on, lets make it black (like PS3), with HDMI (like PS3) AND OMG 120GB HDD! IT's teh bigger than Sony!
um...but you can buy any old hard drive for a PS3, whereas your 120GB drive is almost $200 bucks...
