Actually, LoopRumors (http://www.looprumors.com/LoopBlackPopup.php?leopard-available-at-mwsf-07) is reporting that Leopard might be released at Macworld next January.

First of all, I can only see a small section of map when in an area with no coverage. Second of all, the automatically detected location on my iPhone 2G is wildly inaccurate to the tune of a couple of miles. It seems to merely select the nearest AT&T tower. Third of all, when trying to submit an issue today, I got the error "Application temporarily unavailable," and it dumped me back to the home screen. And as noted before, you can't save a report in an area with no coverage to submit it later when you're somewhere with coverage.
This is a poorly designed application from AT&T, and is an example of "customer service theatre." They put the application out there in order to create the inaccurate and misleading perception that they are doing things to improve the customer experience, when in fact, due to the pathetic design of the application and AT&T's general ineptitude, it will probably do nothing to improve their service.

I used XP earlier today to install IE7* and had completely forgotten how horrid it is to install anything in Windows. My OS X experience has been so much better I was actually surprised that I had to restart Windows after the IE7 install was complete (which took 5 minutes by itself). I still can't believe how much I'd forgotten about why I hate Windows. What a horrid OS.

I don't think the U.S. is even in the same ball-park, in this regard.

Like I said, I have no problem with people who legally enter this country, and pay taxes, etc. I also fell the same way about people who were born here in the UK, and decide not to work and claim money from the government. Yes we give people money not to work. Even if they have nothing wrong with them. I don't mind giving money to people who can't find a job, but recently it was exposed that 800,000 people are able to work, yet choose not to, because they don't want to work, and we pay them for this! But in all fairness Tories ( the government ) are going to change this soon.

It's possible. It's also quite possible that NF's offerings will either get very much scaled back or have a big price increase after their current content contracts expire and they have to renegotiate (and end up with terms that are much closer to what Apple and others have as opposed to their current deal which gives them a big advantage).

I believe, for a server, it offers much more. I think it has redundant power supplies, lights-out operation and includes Mac OS X server. Since you obviously don't need those things (since you see no value in them) I don't know why you would want one.
Keep in mind, other than OS X server, things like that redundant power supply are cost extra options.
For someone like me, I was thinking of purchasing 2 of these things, however, cost really is a factor for me here. My primary application is a render node for computer graphics. Problem is, for the price the XServe costs with 2GB memory and a 2.66GHz dual processor system, I can get a Boxx render node system with the a 3.0GHz configuration and OpenSUSE 10.1 for for less. As much as I would like this system, I'll have to pass for now until I am ready to put together a SAN.
EDIT: Heck, for the configuration I really want, it is over $1000 more for the XServe as opposed to the Boxx rendernode.

There already a FREE application with LIVE traffic crowd-sourced data, it is called WAZE and it is awesome, at least in Israel.

I work at a small embedded software development house and I am moving my entire team to Macs (MBP). We do mostly Linux-based development and we are using Parallels on the MBPs to run Suse Linux and then using X11 on the Mac to have a single unified desktop.
I hope in a couple of years to have the whole company moved over. You should see the interest from the other teams in how we are using Macs (and if they can join my team!).
I could not have done this if it was not for Apple's Bootcamp and Parallels and the Intel switch.

Bummer that you can't overclock that 920. You could do some bigadv units. I do wonder what that chip would be capable off. Those 920s are overclocking beasts.

I do recommend the gtx 460s. They are an excellent running card with lower temps and power consumptions. I've always wanted to buy a kill-a-watt to test out what my rig pulls on full and idle.

The real question is, how does apple expect to sell the new Mac Pro when so many of the apps that PROs use are not universal and will be slower than they are on current power macs. Why not just get a refurb to tide you over?
I know they have to release these I'm just saying that it's going to be a hard marketing sell for a lot of people.
We have graphic artists using new Macbook Pros, they didn't know what Rosetta was, they just know Photoshop flies on the new machines. They don't care about Universal versions of software, they care about working fast and efficiently. They all love the new Macbook Pros.
