While many will disagree with my point of view, I think this is just more evidence that Apple and Google with be the 2 major players duking it out. The one that should really worry here is not Apple but RIM. On the bright side, this will just force both iOS and Android to get better and better as they compete with each other. Both platforms have come a long way I can't way for the next smackdown! Now on with the endless forum wars! Let's the the usual blood I have come to know and love in Macrumors! :D

Oh good! Finally! I used to enjoy drinking Budvar, Plzen, etc. and I wasn't thrilled when I moved to the US that Anheuser-Busch would be able to market the lemonade under the same brand. Cheers!

Nope, not a bit. Unless helping me realize that Crucial RAM is a much better deal than that site you keep pushing counts.
Since they'll buy-back my original 2 x 1GB Apple chips as well as my 2 X 2GB OWC's, the net cost is $77, not bad for their excellent customer support.

I really want the 11", but jumping from the 15" MacBook Pro to the 11" MacBook Air would be too great. Right now I have a 13" MacBook Air and I never use it.
Why don't you use your Air?
I've had the opposite experience, I went from a 15" MBP to the Air ... in fact we're just about to sell off two 15" MBP's from my office and I'm going to replace them with 13" MBA's, my staff can't wait.
Recently I had a brain fart and thought I'd enjoy a 'large mobile screen' so I tried the 17", it's a GREAT computer but for me it's not worth the trade off in size and weight.
I'm back to the 13" MBA. When I had the 15" MBP I felt the 2" more screen real estate definitely wasn't worth the weight as the Air surprisingly handles my workload really well.
So interesting to read people's viewpoints, I have to agree with all the arguments in favor of the 13" MacBook Air .... but that doesn't make me want my 11" back any less :D

Oww that's so cute, you actually believe that all those workers in china that work for Apple are there by choice and can just quit and get another job somewhere else. Trust me you would not work in thier conditions.
And that somehow excuses their actions?

It did not go unnoticed to me that Apple is suing one cell phone related company and Nokia is suing SEVEN!
Kodak is suing FIVE!
And FOUR companies are suing Apple and HTC hasn't even countersued Apple! RIM is suing TWO!
And why is Nokia Nokia sueing a lot of companies? Because of the illegal activities of other companies that were found guility in US courts

"I think and hope that people are going to understand. There is as price for being an early adopter and your points and feelings are valid (Penello said when referring to gamers IGN suggested would be angry about the new system). But whenever you innovate and change, you have to face this situation. Your same old system is still perfectly valid."
"We could never have done this before, to bring HMDI and 120 GB to the system when we launched in 2005. The reason we didn't do it before was because the HDMI standard wasn't complete. It takes time to develop these things. We started the console earlier than Sony did and when the HDMI standard wasn't done. At the time we were developing, this stuff was in transition."
******* off you couldn't have in HDMI in 2005. MS really irks me with this move. I wanted a god damn HDMI port....
I agree. There was already PLENTY of TVs with HDMI connectors in 2005! THE ORIGINAL HDMI SPEC was back in 2002!!!
Is it just me, or does Microsoft think that us consumers are stupid? Obviously they don't care about the current 360 owners. I can already feel the anger that you guys have...As for me, I'm actually pissed off for you guys. I mean, I've waited all this time to get one, and now I can get an Elite model. But, that means that people who have gotten a 360 a year before...Man... :(
More options to piss of the current customers eh?

Also: we discovered that there's a registration table set up right in front of the designated Horseshoe booth. Don't let that deter you... you can walk behind the table to get to the booth.
Yeah, I was wondering what idiot decided to put a table right there.

I don't know when the real release date will be for iPhone 5, but I don't think Apple wants people to know the real date. If people think September, more people will buy the iPhone 4 now. Misinformation should be likely for the next few months as they try to get people to buy phones now as they need them.
And as much as I love Apple, this is the thing that annoys me. Is it a good business model? I suppose. But some of the other companies announce their product offerings months in advance (albeit without release dates or prices), just so their customers (and developers) know what's coming. Apple plays everything so close to the vest that customers (like us) are left to speculate on when (or if) a new iPhone will be released, with no official information--no hints, tips, etc.--to point us in the right direction.
Oh, well.

By the way - I feel like a traitor running 3 (legit) copies of windows for a mac team, Ubuntu is still on some of the disks but not running on anything now. At least I have Mac OSX running on the Mac Pro with maybe another Mac Pro coming next year... sometime...

Come on people, there have been millions of these things sold over the last year, and you're complaining about a handful of problems you've heard people have?
Think about it, even if you had heard dozens, if not hundreds of problem reports... that is nothing.
If 1,000 systems out of every million were bad, that would be 0.1% (1/10 a percent).
Factor in 10 million units sold, you'd end up with 10,000 problematic systems... and it would still only be 0.1% failure rate (extremely low!)... have you heard or seen 10,000 failure reports? I sure as heck haven't.
It's been said many times in other threads, the people with problems always shout the loudest... if every person who has never had an issue with their 360 posted every few months (which would be ridiculous), it'd be so easy to tell there are less people with problems then without. Just because you know X number of people with problems really isn't saying much.
But hey, if you want a reason not to buy one then you aren't going to listen to anyone who doesn't agree with you, right? Fine by me, it's not my problem... but don't go spreading around the FUD, just because The Internet & Friends convinced you it was true. :P
On a funny side not (Re: 360 is load), my wife and I were in GameStop just yesterday, and she comments "Wow, that PS3 is so loud you can hear it over the entire store" - A 360 and Wii were both running as well, and sure enough... walked over to the PS3 and it was the one kicking out the horrible noise.
My guess is the cooling on a PS3 just isn't enough, so there were extra fans in the kiosk. But I'm not going to say the 360 is quiet, I'd definitely like it to be quieter too. :D

There's no excuse for charging $180 for a 120gig 2.5" SATA hard drive. None.
Expensive isn't the word. "Anal with no KY" is more like it.
Not often i've laughed that hard from a post i've read.
Anyway, when the 360 goes 65nm i'll be more tempted.
Nothing worth buying till Sega Rally 3 or Halo 3 is released.
Do like the idea of having lots of HD movie trailers though.

It's exactly what it needs to be. The market is not ready for a full on electric vehicle. Range, charge time, infrastructure, cost, etc is not where they need to be.
The Volt offers people to never use gas, but it is there if they need it. It's just the next stepping stone to eventually getting off gasoline. The Volt can appeal to everyone once the price of the technology goes down. The Leaf on the other hand appeals to a more limited group of people right now because it can only go 100 miles on a charge with a long recharging time.
I just wish they would be honest in their marketing for it. T

"Unsurprisingly, the machine was found to be significantly faster than the previous generation."
Yeah, because it's comparing the new i5 with the old i3. And even when it's compared with last years i5, that processor was 2.8ghz and the new one is 3.1ghz.
